The formation of Butte in Action was originally motivated by the apparent irregularities associated with the 2020 presidential election, and the desire to take action in order to ensure that our county and state election laws and procedures were tightened, thus preventing any such irregularities from happening here.
This is still an important goal of the group, but it has become evident that we also have an opportunity to exert influence on the legislators on a wide range of issues that are important to the members of the group, issues such as:
- protection of our ability to continue preaching and teaching biblical truths;
- protection of our God-given rights documented in the Constitution;
- material used by K-12 teachers and administrators that may be antithetical to our Christian believes and values
- unwarranted control, regulation, and expenditures by our state and local government
Beyond activism regarding these and other issues, it is also important that we play an active role in ensuring that our state and local legislators are aligned with us on most issues, thus we must support and/or help elect those that are.
Thus, our mission may be summarized as:
- Action regarding all aspects of election procedures and laws with a goal of ensuring election integrity and minimizing opportunities for fraud;
- Action related to all legislative and regulatory issues of import to the church and/or group members;
- Action directed at ensuring kindred spirits hold appointed and elected positions which impact our laws and regulations.
