| Pray for wisdom for Pastor David Kasule as he looks for new land to buy to
relocate the church and school. |
Refer to discussion under New Life Academy and how the Uganda government is
going to buy our 4 acres, causing us to have to relocate. After 6 months God moved
the Army off the neighboring land, and our church land did nto have to be sold after
all. We praise God that we were able to remain in the same place. |
| Uphold pastor and staff as they minister under difficult conditions, as outreach of
church is expanded. |
Being a rural church in an agricultural region, tithes are often edible rather than
spendable, so being able to travel on bad roads to do visitation and outreach must be
funded in other ways. The costs of living have skyrocketed since the 2007 Kenyan crisis,
and the pastors often walk or use a motorcycle to travel. Anointing, healing, and learning
in church services. (Refer to the New Life Centre Achievements page). Most of the people in village
churches do not have Bibles because they 1) can’t afford to buy them, and 2) they can’t
read or write. People turn to their pastor to help them in many ways, in seeking medical
care, financial problems, personal crisis, etc. The pastor is operating from small
resources himself, so even as he ministers gladly for Christ, the pressures upon him to
meet the needs of his congregation can be phenomenal. |
| Christian impact on the surrounding community |
See New Life Centre Successes page to learn of past NLCC
impact on the community. Churches in Uganda are very competitive and jealous of each other, and we want NLCC
to always portray the love of Christ so people will be drawn to Him and His Word being taught.
Pray for opportunities for God to show His hand to the local people. They really pay
attention to power encounters, such as when someone is healed that the witchdoctors could
not heal. Pray that such people will come into the church, get saved, and remain so they
can be discipled for a strong conversion – so that they don’t just follow the latest
god fad. We want them to become strong Christians! |
